I have been doing this for some time.....what I want to do. But there are some things that are total "inbetweeners" for me. #! I like my nails to look great but I don't like going to the nail salon. I love my hair to be hi-lighted but I don't like that salon either. I would love to only eat cookies and salads every day but no can do that either. So, I'm pretty sure a week of ONLY what you really want to do will be interesting.

Michelle -- great quote and great post!

For me, the carrot is not as much a problem as the danged stick! More and more (when I am paying attention!), I have been laying down my stick -- previously used to beat myself up when I did not successfully get to the carrot.

The carrot is so seductive (especially when cooked in a lovely butter sauce ). But what I'm finding -- oooh, and I love this part -- is that the less I pick up the stick, the less attached I am to the carrot! Zing, that is a marvelous discovery. Then my work becomes more about the creative process and the experience of it, rather than the "ever-out-of-reach" target.

However, the stick is pervasive and it's an evolving process for me to stay aware of when I have become "stick-y."

Great musings as I am very much in the shift from one way of working to a gentler (and more thrilling, actually) way of working!

Darling Michelle - I love what you wrote and I especially love the quote! From where I sit, it could probably say, we'd not only be there but have made several round trips!

I also love the image of you in a baseball cap with a carrot dangling on the front. It's funny and It underlines the futility of going for the carrot -- funny and sad all at once!

Thank you for this reminder, My Dear. It is easy to scoop struggle under the radar...

You can not hear the answers if you are always in the commotion. This "down time" in business can be invaluable to business owners. It gives time to reassess, change ways of doing things and re-emerge a little differently. Use this time well!

Michelle and Debbie,

I love your Newsletter / Ezine!

I am so proud of what you are doing, and what you've accomplished.

I am going to Facilitate a program in Tuscany next May, around Rejuvinating, Restoring, and Redesigning Yourself!

I just returned, took a water color class and added Artist to my cadre of skills!

I created a new context for my life, and for those around me. That is: bringing the space of la dolce vita to everyday life!

Would love to catch up w/ you!

Hugs,

Marie
