The Look Before You Leap Tele-Seminar Series is designed to help you:

  • Identify strengths and weaknesses as an entrepreneur,
  • Plan for your business with concrete tools,
  • Create the infrastructure every new business needs,
  • Cultivate a loving attitude to carry you through the highs and the lows, and
  • Identify and sidestep the classic pitfalls!

Each 2-part Tele-Seminar will include fieldwork to help you get the most out of the material.  We take a “build-it-as-you-go” approach.  You do not need to wait until completing the entire series in order to launch your business.  Of course, you could take this seminar series to gather information in preparation for the time when you are ready to start your business.  Here are descriptions of each Tele-Seminar

#1 — Business Start-Up from the Inside Out

We will address the essential questions a new entrepreneur must answer: What is my vision?  What is my motivation for starting a business?  What will success look like — how will I know I have achieved it?  In addition to these questions, we will have each participant take the EntrepreneurIndex, an assessment designed to evaluate 12 behavioral traits that underlie success and satisfaction for entrepreneurs.  Additionally, this session will address the “Saboteur” (the naysayer voice that resides within each of us) and we’ll give you some tools for handling it.

#2 — Financial Planning for Fun, Success, & Peace of Mind

This session will help you create a real plan for your personal and business finances so that you can focus on starting and running your new venture, rather than on wondering where the money is going or where it’s going to come from.   This session will also address issues such as: What kinds of records the IRS expect you to have, which expenses are deductible and which ones aren’t, and how to set up systems that work FOR you rather than getting bogged down in the detail or the clutter.

#3 – Creating the Legal Infrastructure to Support You

We will introduce you to some of the legal basics critical to creating a strong foundation for your new business.  Should you establish an entity for your business enterprise?  Do you have intellectual property that needs protection?  What about contracts?  There are many legal issues to address, some that you may be aware of and some you may not.

#4 — Crafting a Magnetic Marketing Plan

This session will focus on identifying your target market, creating a marketing position statement (from which all of your marketing efforts will spring), establishing talking points, building a marketing plan and establishing a marketing calendar for your business.

#5 — Building a Sales Engine

No sales = No business.  We know this is obvious, yet we have witnessed countless new business owners do everything under the sun except sell their product or service.  Sometimes re-roganizing your filing system seems more important.  We get it.  Many of us have an outdated or unhealthy view of sales.  You really can be authentically yourself AND sell.  In fact, any great sales person will tell you that you MUST be authentically yourself in order to sell.
